In order to be a representative of the whole Danube appellation KAMPTAL, vineyards and grapes from the lower part of the valley, as well as grapes from the upper and higher altitude part of valley are used. The grapes from the lower part bring the maturity, whereas grapes from the upper part of the valley brings us the freshness in this wine. The ‘classical’ KAMPTAL wine is low in Alcohol (11,5 – 12,5%) and has a pleasant but not obtrusive aroma and fruit character and therefore is a perfect food companion.
Pink-hued and funky, this skin-contact orange wine brims with clementine and orange peel notes on the nose, supported by an overtone of honeysuckle. The light palate has a texture reminiscent of citrus pith and tingles with freshness, while clementine and white pepper notes are highlighted by the bone-dry nature. The Malat family have been making wine on their estate since the 18th Century and have access to some of the most serious single sites in the Krems. The flagship grape of Austria, Grüner Veltliner is a natural cross of Traminer and St. Georgen. This is a fresh and bright, mouth-watering style of Grüner that begins to show more culinary herbal characteristics so associated with this variety. It's a superb all-rounder of a white that is delicious with a very wide range of cuisine.
Grüner Veltliner is the “queen” of the white varieties in Austria. Its main characteristics are the fruity-spicy nose, also called “Pfefferl” referring to pepper.
The bouquet promises fresh fruits and ripeness as well: yellow apple, honey melon, and a hint of quince. Subtle exotic hints enhance the juicy feeling on the palate, while the classic aspects of Grüner Veltliner with pronounced herbal, spicy, and peppery fruit are evident more during the long aftertaste. Bone dry with a vivid finish. An excellent drinking pleasure.
100% Riesling. Pichler-Krutzler from Austria's famed Wachau region is Erich Krutzler and his wife Elisabeth Pichler-Krutzler, the son-in-law and daughter of F.X. Pichler. Erich is a very serious and talented winemaker in his own right, having inherited a great Blaufraenkisch vineyard in Suedburgenland from his family estate, Krutzler, where he was for several years the winemaker, and has had a couple of international award-winning projects in Slovenia.
